Mr. The Honorable David Harrington has served as the Mayor of the Town of Bladensburg, Md., as a Member of the Prince George’s County Council (later Chair of the Council), and as a Maryland State Senator from the 47th Legislative District. Mr. Harrington understands how government works. He also understands business. He currently serves as President and CEO of the Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce, where he is the primary advocate, policy advisor, and spokesperson for over 500 businesses.
He was a faculty member at the Harvard University’s Summer Institute on Reading, Writing, and Civic Education, and associate director of the University of Maryland’s James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership.
Mr. Harrington serves on the board of directors of the Meyer Foundation; Community Forklift; chair of the boards of Anacostia River Keeper and CommonHealth ACTION; chair of the revenue generation committee of the Consumer Health Foundation; and on the national advisory council of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Howard University, and completed graduate coursework at Miami University of Ohio and Harvard University.
